PC Desktop "Freezing"

Describe the bug

3x in the last 2 hours, the desktop application “freezes” or does not allow me to click on any objects. I can navigate the homepage, but objects are unclickable or disappear. Closing the app and starting again fixes it. Video attached

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behaviour:

    1. Go to Homepage
    1. Click on lots of stuff… (there was no pattern)
    1. Create a new set, delete objects, flip back and forth to the homepage multiple times
    1. Homepage is frozen

Expected behaviour

Objects are clickable or do not disappear.

OR, some “refresh” buttons to prevent closing and to open the app again.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Win 10
  • Device: PC
  • Version: 0.18.57 with sets enabled

Additional context

I noticed that I was getting several “Checking for updates” dialogues even after I updated… the freeze usually happened 5 minutes after seeing that dialog.

I’m sorry to hear that. Can you please try to launch the app from the console and make several steps?

    1. Stop application if it’s running.
    1. Can you please start Terminal. In Search you can type “Terminal”
    1. Ran the application through the terminal with this command (please correct the location of Anytype app if needed): set "ANYTYPE_LOG_LEVEL=*=DEBUG" && set "ANYPROF=:6060" && start C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Programs\anytype2\Anytype.exe
    1. Use Anytype until you notice a lag with no ability to do things.

Open [http://127.0.0.1:6060/debug/pprof/goroutine?debug=1](http://127.0.0.1:6060/debug/pprof/goroutine?debug=1)

    1. Use CTRL(CMD)-A and CTRL(CMD)-C to copy data from the browser and send it to the team or just send the automatically generated file

@Vova it seems to have resolved itself after the most recent update… has not happened the last few days!
