Pasting text deselects cursor, requiring a mouse click on the editor to focus it before typing text into the Anytype object's page contents

WHAT IS THE BUG

When pasting text into Anytype, the text cursor disappears, and further typing does not continue to be delivered to the anytype object after the pasted content (or anywhere).

HOW TO REPRODUCE IT

Outline the steps needed to reproduce the behavior in sequence.

  1. Create or open any Anytype page-like object.
  2. Write some text and copy it.
  3. Create a new, empty block, and paste the text.
  4. See cursor vanish, try typing a word, try pasting, neither work, until using the mouse to click the page to place the cursor again.

THE EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Expected to be able to type after pasting to continue entering text without having to grab the mouse and click where the cursor should have been before pasting text vanished it.

SYSTEM INFORMATIONS

  • OS:
    Windows 10
  • Device:
    Windows Desktop
  • Anytype Version:
    0.28.0

Hey, I can’t reproduce this. There may be an additional step needed to reproduce your bug. Please check the steps again. Maybe make a video if you can reproduce it.

Same happens to me.

@Flip , you need to either copy a text from outside AT, or copy a full block within AT (ie. in such a way thay the full block goes blue).

The bug doesn’t happen when selecting just the text within a block, like you did (when just the selected text goes blue).

Edit: for the devs: possibly (maybe) related to:

Thanks. Can confirm it now.

Seems to be fixed in the beta app.

@Wolfspin could you check and confirm whether the issue is also resolved for you?
