Pasting inline webpage links does not make them clickable by default

Describe the bug
When pasting some text with the webpage links inside, the links are pasted as simple text, not clickable website links on Mac. This forces you to update all your links manually which is a hassle.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open any text editor and paste in the following text:
“This is a copy-pasting links test
    https://google.com
    How is the above pasted?”
  2. Select the whole above text in the text editor and copy it
  3. Open Anytype, any page and paste the copied text

Expected behavior
The text is pasted with https://google.com being a clickable webpage link

Actual behavior
Inline links are pasted as a simple text, not clickable links:

System Information:

  • OS: MacOS 12.2.1 (21D62)
  • Anytype Version: 0.24.0

Additional context
Even when typing in the link manually into Anytype, does not convert it to clickable webpage link automatically. This forces you to update all your links manually.

This bug seems to have been fixed with the new update because it doesn’t exist for me and I’m also a Mac user

@dziczyzna could you check whether the issue is indeed resolved with the latest version as is the case for @excel?

@sambouwer I updated Anytype, but it still exists for me. The matter is not copy-pasting the links from a w ebpage (i.e. this post), but copying the links from a simple text editor, or just typing the link by hand does not make it as a link automatically in Anytype.

@dziczyzna thanks for clarifying. On Anytype for Windows (0.25.0) I have the same issue with manually typed URL’s: they are not turned into a clickable text or bookmark after hitting Space or Return at the end of the URL.

I can also reproduce the second issue (when copying from Notepad or Notepad++).
