Pasting images creates new block

The Bug
When an image is pasted into an object, it creates and is inserted into a new block under the currently selected one.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Copy an image to clipboard
  2. Open an object
  3. Select a line/block (so that it is active/the text cursor/indicator is visible)
  4. Paste the image

Expected Behavior
Just like pasting text, pasting an image will add it to the active block, rather than creating a new one.

System Information:
OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Home (Version 10.0.19042)
Anytype Version 0.24.0

Thank you for reading, hope you have a great day!

Additional Context
I assume this is a bug, as the same functionality does not occur when text or other blocks are pasted.
If not, a keyboard shortcut to paste images on the same (active) line, would be useful.

Thank you for reading!

You can change the appearance of the image to “embed”
This default behavior isn’t the best I think.

The request is more for images to be on the actively selected line, rather than a new one, but yes, I agree that this behaviour isn’t preferred .

Since you are familiar with screen recording, could you please upload your video file instead of a .gif file?

Although the full screen display of those is possible via a right click, the .gif OnScreenDisplay is not optimized and most people will not be able to enjoy your capture as they should.

This seems to be fixed in the current release.
