Number formatting

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
The large numbers in sets are hard to understand without any separators.

Describe the solution you’d like
It might be a good idea to add spaces/commas after every three digits, e.g., 123,456,789 or 123 456 789 instead of 123456789.

Describe alternatives you’ve considered
A more crazy (but potentially more powerful) idea would be to turn numbers into objects and allow custom user-defined views for them. This way, one would be able to choose formatting for themselves, including more niche cases like hex, progress bar, etc.

Good one.

Decoupling display from actual value is very good indeed.

You can keep the original value (to use for calculations and comparisons, for example), but display a more friendly version.

For example, “1.1M” instead of “1.129.112”

+1, showing 1.1M but click to display in detail(1,129,112)

If this would be implemented, it should be opt-in and not opt-out, because i think this type of stuff is annoying already in Excel or Calc. Nice thought, but often also not correct. Need to be language-aware because some use comma and some use a dot as separator.

I don’t like the idea of 1,1M at all.

Oh yeah, definitely can’t be imposed.

That’s the whole point of what I said about decoupling the actual value from the way it is displayed.

Ideally this will be one of the many things you can add via plugins.
