Highlights: Export page object highlights

WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND

Highlights in a page object provide a summary of what I need to revise a topic. In Anytype, this is done by changing the background color of selected text.

I would like to be able to export those “ḧighlights” (eg, via e-mail, html, odt or similar) so that I have a copy with just the page title and the highlighted text on the canvas.

HOW COULD IT BE DONE

In the Export menu, there are options for Format, Zip, Include linked objects, and Include Files. Add an option here for “Just highlights”.

When the user presses the Export button, Anytype creates a document with the page title followed by the highlights, each separated by a blank line.

REAL WORLD USE CASES

This feature exists in applications such as Instapaper, Pocket and Apple Books. Students, researchers and professionals regularly compose or keep a reference copy of documents. It is not feasible to re-read them all but having a copy of the highlights provides an excellent way to review information that would otherwise be inaccessible due to the remaining content of an article not being of interest.

RECOMMENDED ALTERNATIVES

A button or keyboard shortcut within Anytype to hide everything that isn’t highlighted.

Or, export the highlights to a new instance of a new type of highlight summary page.
