Create object from text selection

WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND

Being able to create an object from a text selection instead of being forced to use a whole text block.

HOW COULD IT BE DONE

The same exact functionality as “turn into object” but that works from a text selection.

REAL WORLD USE CASES

Suppose you write “John Black is a cool guy”, if you select “John Black” and use the context menu to “turn into object”, you’ll get a new object titled “John Black is a cool guy”. Being able to create directly an object from the selection would be smarter and faster.

RECOMMENDED ALTERNATIVES

Using @ to create the object, this however is slower because you would need to go delete the text written, type @ and then paste the text and create the object.

ADDITIONAL CONTEXT

Notion doesn’t let you do that too

Update:
Check out this older topic and note that linking from text selection is possible.

Note that now it’s possible to create objects from selection using the link button but you still have to type the name (supposedly again)
