Clicking invalid link opens Windows Explorer

Describe the bug
If you add a link to text but the link is not a valid link, Windows Explorer is opened when you click it.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open any object
  2. Type some text
  3. Select the text
  4. Click the chain icon to create a link
  5. Type any text that is not a valid link. For example, type “link”
  6. Click on the chain icon with the link text you typed to create the invalid link

Expected behavior
Invalid links should not be accepted and the Windows Explorer should not be opened when an invalid link is clicked (rather, show some kind of error message or do nothing at all)

Seems to be OS specific. Nothing happening on my Linux with Gnome.
