Can't delete an image object

WHAT IS THE BUG

After a failed image upload, the object stays in Recents and I can’t delete it.

HOW TO REPRODUCE IT

I’m unable to reproduce it as it was on version 0.28.0 and I’m now using 0.29.0.

THE EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

I should be able to delete it or it even shouldn’t appear.

SYSTEM INFORMATIONS

  • OS:
    MacOS 12.6
  • Device:

ADDITIONAL CONTEXT

After deleting the block with the image object, try clearing the cache trough the settings. Does that help?

Nothing happened after I clicked on “Clear file cache”.

Same for me, an image (and a date) already present from the begining can’t be place in bin and deleted (anywhere in the app) :

Mac OS 12.6 and Anytype 0.29 :

Could this be the same issue?

Note, I’m referring to the very first post of that topic, as it is also described that certain Objects remain visible as “ghost Objects”, which seems to be a different issue with same effect (Object cannot be deleted).

Hey there, I’m pretty sure that files (including images, PDFs, etc) can’t be deleted at all right now – only Objects, Types and Templates are able to be deleted in the current versions.

You can look at How to delete files? - #2 by lynxlove for File and image delete for a feature request.

I’d say to just ignore the file and delete it when deletion is available (very soon, according to recent updates). And as this is not a bug (although the failed image upload could be), I’ll close this issue for now. Feel free to flag if you disagree
