This is for Windows, or any OS that allows for clipboard history.
Ability to create objects based on latest x clipboard entries, based on a customizable system wide shortcut.
For example:
Copy some text
Copy a word
Perform shortcut A
Result: This would create an Object with the word in step 2 as title and the text in step 1 as body, tagged as Inbox.
Could have extra steps as desired, with selected content going into wherever the user wants. For example, an extra step could be added above to be able to choose a tag to add as Relation.
HOW COULD IT BE DONE
As described above
REAL WORLD USE CASES
Reduce friction in creating objects from outside of AT.
RECOMMENDED ALTERNATIVES
Doing it manually.
ADDITIONAL CONTEXT
Related to this other FR I just did. The difference is that in this case it’s not based on the contextual menu that comes up when you select a single text. This one requires an universal shortcut.
This reminds me of some Android apps that read the contents of your clipboard to scan for TOTP codes and paste that in and continue for you.
@qualquertipo wouldn’t it be easier if the text selection + shortcut itself is sufficient to perform the action? Do you have situations in mind where that would not work? (maybe when you need to switch context to another Object as destination for your action?)
Edit: never mind, I found the answer to my question in the linked topic
