WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND
A way to create a link that goes nowhere and can later be turned into an object with the link’s text as the title in a single click, similar to red links provided by MediaWiki.
HOW COULD IT BE DONE
I’d like a keyboard shortcut that operates on a text selection, similar to [Ctrl/Cmd]-[K]. Maybe [Ctrl/Cmd-[K] [K]?
Once the link is created, clicking it opens a New Object pane with the text of the link filled as the object title.
REAL WORLD USE CASES
Especially when I’m in a mode of generating ideas I need to get a sentence out of my head that has several things in it that will need to become links to other objects later during elaboration. The ability to make anticipatory links gives me a way to signal to my future self that a thing needs elaboration, and also gives my future self a frictionless way to get on with it.
RECOMMENDED ALTERNATIVES
For the time being I scrape by by manually coloring such text selections red to imitate MediaWiki:
