There have been many topics about sidebar customizing, for example:

- [Sidebar customizability](https://community.anytype.io/t/sidebar-customizability/5746)
- [Ability to freely reorder Sidebar Sets and Favorites](https://community.anytype.io/t/ability-to-freely-reorder-sidebar-sets-and-favorites/5008)
- [Customising Sidebar Layout](https://community.anytype.io/t/customising-sidebar-layout/4982)
- [Ability to customize Sidebar items](https://community.anytype.io/t/ability-to-customize-sidebar-items/4988)

And [Widgets and Sidebar / Dashboard updates#12](https://github.com/anytypeio/roadmap/issues/12) is on the roadmap for Q2 2023.

Also collections is on the [roadmap](https://github.com/orgs/anytypeio/projects/11/views/1) for Q1 this year.

So if we can add collections and/or custom items to the sidebar then I believe we can do all you are asking in this feature request.
